Pyramid Imperial Hefeweizen

3rd beer of the night, Pyramid Imperial Hefeweizen… a special brew that is as easy to drink as the name implies.  I am generally not a big fan of the hefe’s, but this one is really top notch.  Not too fruity or thick, drinks more like a pilsner.  Very nice.  This is about the 4th time I have bought this beer and it will continue to be a regular in my fridge.

 This beer led me to my second movie of the night, Balls of Fury.  Another crap movie with little redeaming quality.   I feel dumber for having watched it.

    

Lagunitas Maximus

Second beer of the night, Lagunitas Maximus…  I opened this one as I was enjoying some Audioslave on our kitchen stereo.  For some reason, the two went very well together.  This beer is quite a bit different than the Murphy’s Stout I enjoyed just prior.  A lot hoppier and more bitter.  Still a great beer, but probably never meant to chase Guinness-style.

 This beer took me from Audioslave to the first of two movies tonight, Hot Rod.  All I can say is Metacritic had this one nailed.  A terrible flick that I fast forwarded half of.  Don’t waste your time or money watching this… trust me.

   

Murphy’s Stout

Ok… so… started the night with a beer I have seen many times at the good ol’ grocery store, but never purchased:  Murphy’s Stout.  To be honest, this was beer #1, #3, and #5.  It helped me keep from drinking all of the unique beer first.  Obviously meant to look like Guinness and I don’t know who came first (don’t really care), but they taste nearly identical.  Smooth, looks like it will be heavy, but surprisingly light.  I don’t get full on this stuff, so that is good.  Anyhow, I would buy this beer again if in the mood for Guinness-style… although I would just choose whatever is on sale, to be honest.
