Beer #99, folks… not a particularly special beer, but beer all the same. Amstel Light, brought to us by the fine folks at Heineken (as of mid 20th century according to wikipedia), may or may not have been positively or negatively impacted by the two Pyramid Hefeweizen 22oz drinks I had with dinner at Red Robin. I will err on the side of Pyramid was good for Amstel and Heineken and leave it at that.
Overall, this is a relatively main stream macro brew. The nation’s largest light import (according to them), this beer definitely isn’t a craft or micro. That being said, it wasn’t bad. I really am not a huge fan of low alcohol lagers like this (3.5%), and this right in line there. No real taste, bad aftertaste, loses carbonation fast, no head, and just tastes slightly off.
