Kronenbourg 1664

First things first… no French jokes. Secondly, this is a fine beer. Ok, now that those two points are out of the way…
Kronenbourg 1664. A surprisingly good beer and one that I really had never seen on the shelves at Fred Meyer… until tonight, of course. :) As far as taste, texture, and overall impressions, I think this one has a place in my fridge in the future… The pour was good. A very golden lager that bubbles nicely and creates a tight head. A first drink and you might dismiss this, but give it a few more and you start to notice that it isn’t simple macro beer flavor that is hitting you… it is a pretty complex brew that hits your tongue in multiple places and methods. Overall, it goes down easy, has a hidden complexity, and just the right mix of hoppiness. Very good.
As far as their website goes, if you head to www.k1664.com, you get a landing page that redirects to the countries they sell in. The US link = broke. Check out the UK link, though, and you get most of what you would be looking for anyhow. An especially decent advertisement called Seat Search is on the site (the other two aren’t worth watching).
