My neighbor Dave brought this over the other day… he liked the looks of it and was jonesing for some good beer, so here we have it… Meantime London Porter. Check out their site if you get a chance… there is a ton of interesting information on there about this fine brew.
As we poured this one, we could notice that it wasn’t the darkest of dars… it pours a slightly transparent, burnt sienna color. It smells light, a very little smokey, and a bit unlike most of the other big porters you might be used to. It actually reminds me of a more refined Anchor Porter… less character in a good way. Overall the taste is light and the smokiness comes through again… but still very light.
A very drinkable porter that is unique in its approach. Worth buying if you want something different but still very tasty.
