Negra Modelo

Interesting day… read an article about buying words by the letter yesterday, so decided to make sure we had our little piece of the action.  We now officially own the following words and associated linkage to this site:

So, for tonight we have Negra Modelo.  Not sure what was going on with my taste buds, but this one definitely didn’t do it for me tonight.  It hit me all wrong with some bad aftertaste and mediocre general flavor.  I have had Negra Modelo before and it wasn’t bad, but it just wasn’t there for me tonight.  It has a great, dark copper look to it.  Minimal head.  Taste is similar to other beer from these guys…

I have decided to go middle of the road on this one until I can buy some more and validate my true rating.

Corona Extra

Our third beer from our friends at Grupo Modelo… Corona Extra graces the dinner table tonight.  A perfect night to save this wonderful lager for… taco salads, a good day at work and some lime wedges and that is all I need to feel completely refreshed. 

According to the Grupo Modelo site, Corona is one of the most recognized Mexican beers in the world.  There is a reason for this, my friends… it is a great beer.  All year round…

Pacifico Clara

Our good friends at Modelo bring us another fine Mexican beer.  Pacifico Clara is much in line with Corona and Modelo Especial.  A good, clean lager that has a smooth taste and no bad aftertaste.  As far as stack rank goes, this would probably be #2 behind Corona for me, but still I would buy it again, especially if you are feeling like a little Mexican beer love.

Modelo Especial

From the same people that bring us the wonderful summer drink Corona, comes Modelo especial!  I decided to depart from the standard brown bottles that have been frequenting the fridge lately and picked up some Modelo Especial and FGM today.  When I look at it, I think malt liquor, but it doesn’t taste so bad.  I wouldn’t put it up there with Corona, but not bad.  If I were in the mood for Coors or Bud and this is all there was, I would be ok… not that I think that will *ever* happen, but hey… you never know.
