Bad Elf Winter’s Ale

Posted by dugpark on November 25, 2008

Found this one at QFC in Redmond the other day and liked the bottle and the label so I picked it up.  In the end, it wasn’t a bad purchase, but it definitely isn’t near the top of the list for the winter beers this year.

Bad Elf Winter’s Ale

This brew is light colored and heady.  Its most notable characteristic is the sweetness in both the body and the short finish.  A sweetness that isn’t necessarily honey sweet, but more on the sugar side.  Not necessarily too overpowering, but it does take away from the natural flavor of the beer.  The bottle notes it should be hoppy, but as far as what I am used to, it might as well be water in that department.
