Aventinus

Dave brings yet another new beer to the tasting table with Aventinus from Schneider-Weisse in Germany.  This interesting brew has only a slight smell of alcohol that belies the 8.2% ABV.  The strange thing is, however, that you can’t really taste it with the beer mellowing it out a great deal.  In the end, though, I think they actually overshot the mellowing and made this beer a little less dynamic than it might should have been.  The beer is cloudy in its unfilteredness but that doesn’t detract, per se.  Yeast is there, as well, but again not hat big of a deal.  In the end not that impressive but still interesting.
