Lost Abbey comes to the mug again, this time with a bit of a seasonal ale… Lost Abbey 10 Commandments Ale. We have tasted some Lost Abbey before and they have some absolutely amazing beer. This time around, it wasn’t quite up to par with what I have come to expect, but it wasn’t bad… Their description:
A stronger version of our Lost and Found Abbey Ale brewed to a more contemplative alcohol content. Massive in every stretch of the brewing way possible this is the sort of beer that will remind a beer drinker who considers themselves a saint that even saints stray as sinners from time to time. Not for the faint of heart, this beer weighs in at a heavenly 9% ABV and is available in 750 ml bottles and on draft at select locations.
My description: Dark, still, and sweet. You can taste the raisins and the overall experience has a slight wine quality. Nothing really remarkable, though… it is solid, but not something I think I must have again. Dave agrees. Especially for ~$12 for the bottle. I will admit the ABV made me a happy little boy, though… 🙂
