Scuttlebutt Tripel 7 Belgian Style Ale

Many beers into the night and Scuttlebutt Tripel 7 Belgian Style Ale came up for review.  This one surprised me a bit, to be honest… I don’t know what I was expecting, but the color and small head just didn’t scream Belgian to me… but hey… you can’t read a book by its cover or judge a beer by the same principle, so we dove in.  There is no doubt about it… this is a Belgian-style beer but they dance on light feet when it comes to the use of yeast.  I would more describe this as a lager-like Belgian-style brew with the crisp clean finish that is probably more suited to the summer months than the cold nights of winter.  That being said, it was a solid ale that puts a different twist on the genre and it is one I would definitely buy again if I saw it in the store.
