Dogfish Head Chicory Stout

Another taster from Dogfish Head… Dogfish Head Chicory Stout.  This one has a big ol’ tan head and a dark pour. A nose of roasted malt and slight coffee hits the nostrils and its on to tasting… carbonation on the tip of the tongue with no bitterness. This brew is light and sharp at ~5% but has nothing on Kona Brewing Company – Pipeline Porter, New Belgium Giddy Up!, or Redhook Double Black.

JBB6 Rating: Middle of the Road

It’s not really fair to compare this beer with coffee stouts considering there’s no coffee used in the process.

Fair or not, that is where my mind took me on this one, so there you have it. If it would have been a great beer, nothing would have mattered in comparison… but it wasn’t. Just middle of the road for me. I appreciate that you may not agree, though… 🙂
