Left Hand Oak Imperial Stout

Left Hand has had some hit and miss on the blog but they score a hit with this one in my book.  Left Hand Oak Aged Imperial Stout lives up to everything you would expect coming from the name.  you get the oak, the imperial, and the stout, all doing their individual best and coming together as a team to make something special!  The nose starts it off right with a strong smell of the ABV… imperial for sure.  The oak is there, in the nose, the head is nice and tight.  The nose leads to a very, very smooth body with the aging obviously getting rid of all the rough edges and leaving you with a nice creamy experience.  As you drink it, you get ABV again on the finish with a bit of bitterness to round out somewhat of an ABV sandwich… albeit a very nice ABV sandwich. 🙂

All in all, this is a super solid brew that deserves your attention if you get a chance… oh… and did I mention that this is probably the coolest Left Hand label we have seen yet!
