Where to Buy Beer

We have been getting a lot of folks that are asking a couple of very important questions like: Where can I buy (xxx) beer?  Where can I buy beer online?  Hating to see folks that can’t be reunited with their loved ones, we offer the following options to you, our readers.

Option #1: Get the info from the brewery

Go to the beer’s website (we link to them every time if they have one).  Check to see if they have a list of distributors.  If they do, check for one near you and call them.  If they don’t, most breweries have contact information.  Give them a call or shoot them an email.

Option #2: Contact a local beer store

A very good trend is going on in thew northwest… that is the increase in the beer stores that offer hundreds if not over a thousand different types of bottled beers.  These can be great sources for you to find beer or to place special orders.  Here are a few that we know about in our neck of the woods:

Option #2.5: Contact a local grocery store

As Rich noted in one of our comments, you may have some great luck with a local grocery store.  Some that offer pretty good selections in the Northwest include:

  • Top Food
  • QFC
  • PCC
  • Whole Foods
  • Trader Joes
  • Fred Meyer

Option #3: Check out an online store

There are a bunch of online storest that ship beer to various places.  There may be restrictions on your state and the sending of alcohol, so check the site’s information before you place an order.  Some examples:

Option #4: Ask Us

We don’t have a ton of time on our hands, but you can ask… You should also check the comments of the beer on our blog.  You may not be the first that is wondering what your options are.

And there you go… let us know if you have any question.

I’m just wondering where I can buy the Amber Weizen. I’ve looked all over and can’t seem to find it.

  2. dugpark says:

    Hey Nick,

Where do you live? If in the Seattle area, you may find it at the breweries retail store. I found mine at Fred Meyer in Monroe, but I was there tonight and didn’t see any more. You may look for Amber Ale instead of Amber Weizen… I actually think it is the same beer. If you let me know where you live, I may be able to help further. Alternatively, you could contact Pyramid… their info is here: http://www.pyramidbrew.com/about/contacts.php.

    Nick,

I just noticed several 12 packs at the Fred Meyer in Monroe… that could either be very close to you or very far away… either way, they were there!

I disagree with all blogs and have decided that Tap Room No. 21 is the best beer out there. I was born in Europe and have tried all types of beers. Now living in the U.S. for 25 years, this is the best beer I have had in a long while. Please let me know where I can find this great beer they are no longer sold in supermarkets in and around the Spring and Houston, Texas area. Thanks for the help.

  5. dugpark says:

@ Florian: You may be out of luck… you can go to their website and give them a call or shoot them an email, but their website is pretty sparse. We still have it on the shelves at the Fred Meyer in Monroe, WA… but that doesn’t do you much good. 🙂 I always say to each their own… your tastes may just be way more advanced than mine and Tap Room No. 21 really is a wonderful beer… who knows!

    • dugpark says:

Hello Maureen. I have submitted and inquiry to the folks over at Wells and Youngs and will get back to you if I hear from them. You might also check with any specialty beer and wine shops in your area and see if they know where to get you some…

Metolius Beers- Enjoy them Golden is available locally in Poulsbo, WA where are there other brews available for purchase? Thanks, Greg.

  24. Sean says:

I own a farm with several partners. We drink a lot of beer. It seems to me if we were to buy in bulk we could save some money. I haven’t checked on any pricing anywhere yet. But I will. We live in Minnesota and drink domestic beer. Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Sean

    • dugpark says:

Your best bet is to either buy at a big seller like Costco or Sam’s Club or you might be able to contact a local distributor… the other option you might have is to hook up with some local home brewers… they can make 5 gallons, or 40 pints for probably 30 bucks (at least they can around here), and if you get a good one you will be drinking amazing beer. Best of luck and let us know how it all works out!

  34. Becky says:

Help! I’d love to buy my husband Kona Brewing Company’s Pipeline Porter for x-mas, but I can’t find it anywhere! I have contacted the brewers, and local specialty beer shops and am told that I cannot get it in St. Louis, MO (which is odd since AB is a distributer). However, I am also having trouble finding it available to order online. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  35. Kim says:

I was also trying to locate Wild Blue by Anheuser Busch and I live in Chicago. I tasted the beer while on a tour of the brewery in St. Louis. When I asked them if the beer was available in Chicago they tole me it was and it should be easy to find. This is definitely not true because I have been searching for it for the last month with no luck. I also attempted to call the brewery but they have no phone number where you can reach a live person. Plus they were no help anyways since they were the ones that told me I should have no trouble finding it.

  36. Katie says:

Where can I find wells banana bread beer in Mississippi.

  37. Adrienne says:

I live in Harrisburg, PA and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get Wells Banana Bread Beer? Never tasted anything like it and it is wonderful.

  38. Michael Odza says:

Not sure I can help with finding any specific beer, but if you want to discover new great beers — and then know that you can always get more, you could join a beer of the month club, like Craft Beer Club or one of the others.

More generally, there’s a ridiculous mishmash of laws about shipping alcoholic beverages from any one state to any other. Pretty much any beer, wine or other website will ask what state you’re in before anything else, because West Virginia doesn’t allow Illinois to ship to them (just making up an example), but does allow Ohio…

  39. GALE COTTRELL says:
